トマトの樹勢が落ちてきたようなので追肥をしようと思う。Dr.小祝がいつも言っているとおりミネラル先行でして行こうと思う。
土壌分析の結果で追肥の内容を決めようとするのだが、疑問が生まれる。
元肥を施肥する際、Caなら遅効性の牡蠣殻、Mgなら水酸化マグネシウムを入れている。これらがどれだけ土壌に溶け出したか、そしてこれからどれだけ溶け出すか、これが分からないと量を決めることができない。師匠にそうだんしたら、トマトの樹の姿から判断できるので、土壌分析は不足してそうな成分の検討をつける目安として考えるようにと言われる。
なるほど。
師匠が貸してくれた2007年12月号の現代農業にトマトの樹勢の見方が書いてあった。葉を上位、中位、下位と分け、葉の姿で判断する。例えば、上位の葉が褐変する場合Caが不足している、中位ならKが、という具合に樹勢からのメッセージの受け止め方がある。
ウチのトマトの場合K不足のようだ。Kは果実に多く運ばれるため数多くの果実を同時に実らせる場合大量に必要なようだ。

Finally, we have finished to set up tomatoes planted in both of openfield and green house. We still got many things to do, but it can be said the setting up is finished.
We have 336 stocks in the green house and another 336 stocks openfield. And there are 16 spices.

A few of them are ready for dispatch. I sometimes pick them up to eat. The taste is getting better day by day.

前山の畑に師匠の知り合いの知り合いが来る。半分借りたいそうだ。
正直使ってないところの草刈が大変なのでこういうオファーは非常に助かる。

2時に来るはずの訪問者は集落内で何度も行ったり来たりして迷いながら、3時半に畑に来た。

芦屋に住む男性で画家だそうだ。
今は芦屋から岡山に週1で通い畑をしているという。今度は市島に通ってくるらしい。

We ve got about 400 stocks of tomato in open field. And each of them needs a support. So that I have kept myself to cut bamboo day after day. Today, those bamboo show up in the field. My tomato farm looks much more professional than before.
I am filled with deep emotion.

とうとうHunterブーツに穴が開いた。定価は16,000円するイギリスのブランドで素材は天然ゴムで穴が開きにくい、町で履くためのブーツなのでデザインはもちろんいい。
それを12月に4,000円で買った。6ヶ月他のブーツを履くことは無かった。
ホームセンターに売っているような長靴の寿命は1ヶ月といっていい。切り返しのないシンプルなものでもどこかに接着箇所があるからそこから漏れてくる。安いものでも1,000円位する。

Hunterブーツなら、安く上がり、買い換える手間が省け、カッコイイ。
同じものを注文した。

Parson who takes over

A friend of friend of master likes to have a farm in here. And master recommended my farm in Sakiyama where is 10min drive away from my house. It helps me very much as, candidly, I am not interested in it any more, as I like to concentrate on tomato farm in my village.
He will come to see Sakiyama farm on Sat.

竹を切る手順

梅雨入りした割には雨が降らないので作業が遅れている僕には都合がいい。
今日も竹を切りに行く。例によって落語を聴きながら作業をする。

竹を切る手順は、竹を持ち出しやすそうな入り口を見つける、何本かの竹を切って作業スペースを確保する、根元の直径が3cm・高さ4Mくらいの竹を鋸で数本根元から切る、そのうちから1本作業場に引きずり出す、鉈で枝を掃う、入り口付近に放り投げる、数十本貯まったら竹藪の外に引きずり出す、必要な長さに切る、10本ずつ紐で纏める。これを3セットほど繰り返すと100本の竹の支柱が手に入る。

Cloudy to rain

We still have plenty of young tomatoes. Wife brought a part of them to local direct shop. And she is selling them to the local people. Actually she does not do anything, the local people came to her to ask young tomatoes. People knows she has been working hard. She sold 30 of stocks in these 3 or 4 days.

続 竹切り

朝、竹を切りに行く。竹を切っている最中は落語を聞く。そうすると作業に集中でき余り疲れを感じない。
今日も100本ほど手に入れた。これで今使われていない竹は250本になった。後100本ほど必要だ。すでに300本強畑に使っている。相当な数の竹を切りまくっている。

ここ2週間ほどほぼノンストップで作業をしているので疲れてきた。午後は適当に終わって、と言っても5時まで働くのだが、福知山に気晴らしに買い物に出た。

Keep working

Absent for VegiWon. Sorry D-suke. We gotta work for tomato today too. Weather info has told it will be rain all day, but it was wrong.

Wife has kept working for tomato for these 10days. Hanging the branches, taking out the lower leaves, taking out the extra branches, these work needs perseverance. Her working clothes has been always smeared with green powder of tomato.

インパクトドライバー

農業を始めてから本格的な道具が増えた。今回はインパクトドライバーが届いた。ケースを開けたとたん、プロ用、という表示が目に入る。この言葉に弱い。インパクトドライバーはハウスの中の支柱のラックを固定するビスを打ち込むために使う。これで頑丈になった。

数年前、家に自分専用の作業場があっていろんな道具が揃っていて木工なら何でもだいたいできる環境に憧れた。それが知らないうちに手に入っている。何にも作ってないけどいつか、純鉄の小刀、を作ってみたい。

It has been good days, in spite of rainy season. I got suntan.

I have just finished to modify the support by exchanging the bamboo parts into metal parts. It costs a bit, but it made support much stronger and makes us work easier.

The first tomato is harvested. Not yum.

白絹病

トマトの根に近い茎の部分が白く腐る病気がある。白絹病といい根が壊死する。本には未熟な有機物が引き起こすと書いてある。水分過多により根腐れが起こっているという説もある。
が、よくよく見ると違うようだ。地面付近の脇芽を取った傷跡からばい菌が入ったようだ。白絹病にやられた3株すべてにそういう傷跡があったので間違いないだろう。メニーナにしか発生してなくて、タキイの品種と種の森からかった在来種には起こっていない。これも耐病性についての何かがあるんだろうと思う。
師匠言われたとおり嫌気性微生物を土壌中に増やした。

Modifying support

At master's farm, we harvest the onions all day. His warehouse is stuffed with them.

In the morning, lunch break and after work at master, I am modifying the support for tomatoes in the green house. It is according to wife's request. She has been working for supporting so hard, but it does not go well as the base of the support is not strong enough. I used bamboo sticks in the parts to reduce the cost, of course bamboo is not so strong. I gotta change all bamboo parts into metal.

トライやるウィーク 2011

晴れ

今日から一週間師匠の農園に近所の中学生が仕事の体験に来る。
これは兵庫県下でこの時期同時に行われている社会体験プログラムで”トライやるウィーク”と呼ばれている。

今年の中学生は男子が二人。他に、ガソリンスタンド、運動公園、コンビ二、とか華のある職場も他にあるというのに、農業を選んだようだ。
素直ないい子で話の飲み込みが早い。

Get ready for rainy season

In the morning, gotta work for village. Today we gotta cut the grass along the liver.
According to the weather information, today seems to be the last chance to plow and make furrows. As it has been already in the rainy season, and the soil can not be dry easily.
Until the dawn, I could make 300M of new furrows covered by the plastic film. And I seeded the beer beans for my childhood friend.

万願寺とうがらし定植

晴れ

今日も少し早く起きて竹を切りに行く。今日は万願寺トウガラシを定植し支柱を立てる。昨日と同じ場所に竹を切りに行く。一株に一本必要なので200本を切り出すのに5時間かかった。
そうしている間に妻は定植を済ましている。午後に支柱を立て誘引をした。
他に、なす、スイカ、メロンを定植した。

Transplant cucumers

It has been fine all day. This is the first time for these 2 weeks.
Woke up a bit earlier than usual, and I started cutting bamboo for support. I got 100 sticks of them in 3 hours. One bamboo gives 2 x 2M sticks. At bamboo grove, at first, making a scaffold cutting the old bamboo and wipe out grasses and others, and cut new bamboo by hand saw, and cut off the branches by hand hatchet, and bring them out of grave, and cut into the length for what I need.
All the way, I was listening to rakugo. It makes me concentrate on the work.
At the same time at the field, wife started transplanting young tomato, and completed the planed number of stocks.
In the after noon until the dawn, we were building the support for cucumber using bamboo, net, strings.

フランス革命

梅雨に入った。これから一ヶ月ほどの間土は乾かない。つまり畝建てができない。仕方ない。

師匠にはフランス人の有機農家の友達がいる。
フランス人は民衆が国王を追い出したフランス革命を誇りに思っているそうだ。日本には、民衆の知らないところで武士が革命をしたものはあるが、民衆が国のトップを追い出した革命はない。明治維新も下級武士が起こした革命で民衆には全く関係ない。
今はフランス革命のような事が必要とされている。

Geiger counter

Rain

We, outside labours, are exposed to radiation during work in the rain. I like to have a Geiger counter to see how much I am damaged.

I think the geier counter should be set in the public place like super market for consumers to see if the products are safe.

Some disguises the origin of the products for the radiation material matter. It can not be a benefit for people. I guess a part of people do not care the radiation material if the products cost less.
