Soil is wet

Fine

I need to think about green pepper and cucamber, as they are going to be on mass production at my farm in this season. I need to prepare the soil for planting as soon as possible. In spite of my hurry, the soil is still wet. Too wet to plaw.
Since I became a farmer, I wait for something longer. For example, I wait for the soil gets dry, I wait for the rain, I wait for the arrival of seeds or fertilisers or tools, I wait for fumigation, I wait for it gets warm. And I think I became a bit more patient.

I hate myself

I hate myself.
Because I can not stop a bad feeling against the volunteer or charity for the earthquake thing which I see on Facebook. I know the reason. It is because of jealous. And other reason is that people who shows what they do look like they enjoy this situation. They are in Tokyo or the safe city away from the stricken area.

法事

3人で朝の暖かい飲み物を飲んでドンを駅まで送った。時間ギリギリのはずが１時間に１本の電車を乗り遅れた。仕方が無い、ここで別れ１時間待ってもらおう。

今日は妻方の法事があるので綾部市の寺まで行く。妻の叔父叔母ご夫婦が着てくれていて法事の後は付近の料理屋に行った。梁に大きな木を使っていた頃の日本建築を料理屋に改造していてカッコイイ。川のほとりにあるので雰囲気もいい。
同業者にストローべイル(Straw bale)ハウスを建てようとしている人がいる。それでカフェを建てたら繁盛するだろうな。レコーディングスタジオでも当ると思うな。どちらにしても丹波じゃ無理だな。

Don curry

Don, wife and myself has lived together since 18th of this month. From point of my view, in the beginning, the balance among us were difficult. How difficult, I can not describe. It has been getting better day by day.
However, sad to say, Don is going back to Chiba tomorrow, as he's got a work to do.

全滅

12時に起きた。久しぶりに休もうと思ったからだ。
トマトを苗床に見に行って驚いた。第三弾の苗が全滅している。万願寺も全滅している。昨日ビニールを開けないで出たせいだろうか、全部茹であがったように倒れて消えそうになっている。
やり直そう。

そして苗を整理してみた。
大玉は育てやすい。順調に成長している。中玉は半分くらいに減った。調理用は難しいのかなぁ、全然少ない。

早速種を再注文した。
今度は昨日のトマトマスターに教えてもらったやり方でやってみよう。

Drive to Osaka

Waking up 6 in the morning, as Don and I went to city.
Wife made 4 rice balls, pot of tea and pot of coffee for us. She always did for us much.

There were 2 purpose for today.
One was to see a tomato master in Nishinomiya, and other was going to Osaka as I liked introduce to Don.

We reached Nishinomiya at 9 and met tomato master. He was growing very good young tomato. I learned a new way for fumigation.
Then we drove to Osaka. We had Nikusui at Chitose.

After that, visiting CD shop and got 8 CDs including rakugo, and taking walk in Minami, and went to Tushikatsu, and taking walk again.

Drive and taking walk were very fun, as Don told me lots about him. I know even the name of his school bus driver when he was a primary school student. His life seems to be filled with a lot of variety much more than I had expected.

丹波地方

曇りのち小雨

しっかり晴れないので土が乾かない。これが丹波地方だ。
土は粘土質で水持ちがいい。酒蔵が町内に4件あるほど水がうまい。盆地なので一日の寒暖差が大きい。だからこの地方の米はうまい。
この地方の作物によって地元の人の体が作られ、気候によって地元の人の性格が作られる。

Wife's birthday

As this is wife's birthday, I liked to get ready for it. And I asked Don to help.
We went to Cocomo supermarket to get flowers, a bottle of sparkling wine, cooking material and something sweet.
They made the day happier.

複合汚染

まさかの雪が降った。

識ある有機農家なら必ず呼んでいる、有吉佐和子さんの複合汚染という本がある。この本には有害物質の人体被害について書いてある。ほとんどの有害物質はそれぞれ基準が設けられている。例えば、農薬、化学肥料、食品添加物、排気ガス、界面活性剤など、個々には人体に影響の無い基準が国によって設けられているが、実生活ではそれらを複合的に取り込むので人体への影響は簡単に測ることはできない・・・、的な本だ。

これと似た事が起こっている。
水道水に含まれる放射線物質は大人には無害だとか、牛乳、ほうれん草、空気、など国は個々には人体に影響ないと言うが、実生活では複合的に汚染物質と接触するので楽天的に考える事はできない。
これが分かっていながらどのメディアもこういうアドバイスはしない。どうしてだろう。

In these days, wife works very hard. She helps my agriculture, and she works as a copy writer as usual, and she does almost of house work. Because of her work, I have been concentrate on my work.
Not only she works hard, but also she has been a mood maker at home.
Better she does, much better I love to do.

ナチュラルハイ

お酒を飲まなくなって今日で2ヶ月が経つ。
我慢するくらいならいつでも飲もうと思っているが、別にいらないなぁ。
代わりにコーヒーをよく飲むようになった。前は特に何も感じなかったカフェインでハイになるようになった。1日2杯は飲む。それ以上飲むと胃に負担がかかるので自重している。

酒を飲んでできる事は、酒を飲まないでもできる。
そうだろ。
サラリーマン時代これを言って先輩達に嫌われたもんだ。僕は先輩達が大事にしている、ゴマをすり、飯を食わせ、酒を飲ませ、夜の世話をする、という営業テクニックが大嫌いだった。そんなもん仕事じゃないですよ。

僕と友達について言えば、周りの人が飲んで、僕が飲まないで、ちょうどいい。それでちょうど同じぐらいのハイ加減と口数になる。

最近はナチュラルハイなんだな

Marc

Cloudy to little rain

I used to live in a share house called Tohto guest house in Chiba. The building has 3 stories and 40 single rooms, dining, kitchen, pool table, 6 shower booth and enough parking space. During I lived there I met wonderful people. This evening I talked one of them named Marc on skype.
I met him when I visited there before moving in. He was in a kitchen and sending out Aussie atmosphere which I like. Then I decided to live there.
He is one of the key persons who influenced to my agriculture life.

One day we were in a kitchen, and as a joke we said that we should better plant some herbs here, as there was a small space behind the kitchen door. At that time it was like a bush. Next morning we woke up at 4 in the morning, after waking up coffee we started to prepare the soil for planting cutting huge grasses, digging out a tree to remove, picking up stones. Moring work before going to work made us refreshed pretty much. We had kept working for a while.

This experience made me sure to be a farmer. This company work influenced not only to me, but also to many people who lived in the guest house get together.
Marc has a power to make things forward and better.

WWOOF

久しぶりの春らしい日だ。

昼になってもドンは起きて来ない。大丈夫だろうか。相当疲れているようだ。
その間に二階の物置になっている6畳の和室を掃除してゲストルームに使えるようにした。妻と2時間奮闘して結構居心地のよい部屋ができた。二時間でできることを10ヶ月しなかったのはどうしてだろう。
事が動くには外圧が必要だといういい例えだった。
このお陰でこれから来るゲストにプライバシーを持ってもらえる。WWOOFも受け入れてみようかな。

ドンは一昨日食べた牡蠣に当って苦しんでいたようだ。かわいそうに。
起きて来た時には回復していたので、昼ごはんを食べた後は二人で河原に竹を切りに行った。こないだ一人で3時間かけて25本しか切れなかったのに、今日は二人で1時間かけて60本手に入った

Don Johnson is coming.
He is one of wonderful persons I have ever met. I met him in Tohto guest house in Ichikawa, Chiba, when I lived there in 2009. He has been in Japan for about 15years. So that off course he understands Japanese culture and language very much. We can apply lots of good words to him. For example, smart, kind, clever, handsome, gentle, cooperative,
amusing and so on.

He has visited Kobe for a while. And he can stop by my place. This news makes me excited. 7:00 pm his train arrives at Ichijima Sta.

放射線漏れ続く

ここでもこれだけ寒いんだから被災地はもっと寒いだろうと思う。気の毒だ。

国力を上げて取り組んできるんだろうけど、地震から6日経った今日までに放射線漏れがましになったというニュースが無い。日本のメディアを通じて入ってくるニュースは人体には影響が無いと言い揃えているが海外のメディアは違う。
先進国の外国人は一足先に東京さえ離れている。
福島では原子力発電所付近の住民14人が亡くなっている。ニュースは死因を言わない。不自然だ。
発電所正門付近の被爆量を表すSv（シーベルト）値は日に日に大きくなっている。
燃料棒の冷却水が減ったので、冷却の為に海水を色々な方法で注いでいるそうだが、もともとあった冷却水はどこに行ったんだろう。海だろうな。その水は放射線物質を含んでいると考えるほうが自然だ。
その後は放射線で汚染された食べ物が産地偽装でスーパーに並ぶんだろうな。

しかし、ここまで追い詰められても暴動が起きないこの国って、自分を含めて、お人よしだなぁ。

Radiation is leaking

2 weeks to April, but it is snowing all day.

I am taking information through internet, not TV. As antenna has not been connected. I have not watched TV for 10 months. Anyway...

A nuclear power plant matter seems getting more serious day by day. Overseas organization assesses the situation as level 6, Japanese government assesses it as level 5.
Japanese government seems hiding information.

Now, generator need sea water to cool down. It needs it time after time. It means the water which has radioactive contamination went out, already.
Government says the present quantity of leaking radiation does not effect human life. But the number is about 50 micro Sievert, and this number is same as X-ray photograph. As known pregnant woman should not have X-ray examination, because 50 micro Sievert is the number which effect human body. Moreover, X-ray examination is for a few second, but now people are suffered for 5days.

That is why I think Government is hiding right information.

古い親友

朝起きたら歯を磨きながらPCを起動させる。

スカイプにジャスティンがいる。久しぶりだしコンタクトをしようとすると、向こうからかかってきた。地震について心配してくれていた。

彼はアメリカ人で昔同じ職場の同僚だった。会ったのは二人が24歳のときだから死ぬほど遊び散らかした。日本語が堪能で漢字も問題なく使いこなす。ジャスティンといる時間が大好きだった。彼が英語で話し、僕が日本語で話し、それでコミュニケーションが完璧に取れていた。言葉が堪能ということは、その文化が好きで理解が深いということだ。大和魂が分かる男らしい奴だった。
頭もいい。
その彼は今、バンクーバーに住み、弁護士をしている。きれいな奥さんがいて、かわいい息子がいる。

10年以上話さなかった。お互い目標になかなかたどり着けなかったからだと思っている。

そいつとスカイプで話した。思いっきりハグしてやりたい。

Radiation

Everybody talks about the earthquake, on the street, on face book, on TV. It is off course always serious. And it looks I have to do so.
I am not saying I do not have a sympathy for it, off course I do, but even if we talk over it a lot, the situation does not change at all. I think that all we can do is visiting there and help people or stay cool and see exactly what is going on. I rather to be the latter.
I think, now we need to have right knowledge about a nuclear power plant and how to prevent the radiation.

Here please let me write about it.
The radiation is an electromagnetic wave which has high energy, ultimate short wavelength. It goes into things including cell of living things and destroy the chromosome. It causes leukaemia for example.
The radioactive material is a thing which emits the radiation.
And the radioactive is an ability of emission of the radiation.

If you are suffered by the radiation, you should better take iodine before it. As it stays the thyroid gland and radioactive material can not stay there as iodine has stayed there already.

We need to know more.

ところが情報通のTakeちゃんからこれはガセだという連絡が入った。各新聞社のサイトで調べてみるとガセだった。

確かに関西電力は東京電力圏内に送電をするのだけれど、関西では周波数は50Hz、関東では60Hzと違い送電するなら周波数を変える必要がある。周波数変換設備の処理能力により送電容量に100万Kwの制限が発生するので通常通り電気を使っていても送電に何も影響がないそうだ。
みなさん無駄な混乱を招いてごめんなさい。

Earthquake

The sunshine dries up the soil. Probably tomorrow the condition of soil becomes dry enough to be plowed.
Well, today I am going to transplant the young tomato to the 3 inches pot. It is fun.
Tomato is a tough plant, as the roots grows from stem. So that using this features, I transplant them deeply and obliquely to grow more roots.

Mate. As you know there was a big M8 earthquake near Fukushima-prefecture on Pacific ocean. The huge tsunami attacked the coast, and over 800 people died. Father of my friend is missing. It is not someone else' business. What can I do for it?

元肥施肥

ハウスはまだ完成していないがハウス内に肥料を撒いた。これがまた楽しい。
ハウスではトマトを栽培しようと思っている。作物それぞれに必要な栄養が違い、トマトはトマト向けの栄養バランスに仕上げておく必要がある。それにはまず土壌分析をして現在の土の様子がどうなっているかを把握する。今年に入ってから10回ほど同じ圃場の土を分析して数値を安定させた。これを元に不足しているものを足していく。180㎡のハウスに撒いたのは

Election

We are going have election. Voting for chairman and vice-chairman of Tamba Organic Agriculture Group. Its members are consisted by local farmers and new farmers like me. Altogether about 20 people.
Master and his generation has worked for it for 20 years. It is said that it is time for new people.

It is fun to think about the election, as it is not fair election from my point of view, because people counts the vote underground.
I am the one who does so. Mate, there is no amusement here except like these things.

カラーポットが届いた。
トマトを10種類栽培するため定植までに混ざってしまって分からなくなることがあるので色分けしたほうがいいと師匠が言うので、もっともだと思いそうしてみる。
桃：桃太郎ファイト
紫：サターン
橙：フルティカ
緑：メニーナ
青：サンマルツァーノ
茶：ティオクック
黒：にたきこま
赤：チャドウィックチェリー
白：ホワイトペアー
黄：イエローペアー
こういう風に分けた。苗がプラグポットにおいておくにはもう限界の大きさなので早く鉢上げをしたい。

Green house 2nd day

A workman is coming to build a green house. It is day 2 today.
I worked for him, as I liked to reduce the personnel expenses. We made the both edge, doors, of the green house.
We worked about 8 hours and 90% was finished.

補助金

気温の変化が激しいので育苗ハウスの温度管理が大変だ。

県の職員が僕が師匠の下で受けている研修がきちんと行われているか視察に来る。
2008年末に始まったリーマンショックが発端の世界経済恐慌を受けて日本国内でも正社員雇用が大きく減らされた。それを大事と見た厚生労働省は総額6000億円の緊急雇用対策事業を立ち上げた。6000億円を47都道府県に支給し各地方で雇用を生み出す予算とした。僕が受けている研修制度の場合は、厚生労働省から兵庫県農政環境部農林水産局に、更に兵庫県有機農業研究会に受託事業として予算が下り、研修生に支払われている。

複数の補助金をもらうことはできない、ということをしばしば聞く。例えば兵有研の研修生は丹波市が出しているハウスを建てる時の補助金をもらうことはできない、これは完全に間違っている。
正しくは、これは県の担当者に確認もしたので本当の話だが、複数の

同種

の補助金はもらえない。例えば、兵有研から研修費用をもらいその上丹波市の農業研修生補助金をもらうことはできない。
でも

異種

の補助金ならいくらでももらってかまわないそうだ。例えば、兵有研の研修生でも丹波市がそれでも良いとするなら市の出しているハウス補助は受けることができる。現に丹波市は僕の身分も知っていたしそれでも出してくれることになっていた。

残念なことに僕は間違った指導をされ丹波市からハウス購入の補助金をもらうことができなかった。手続きを途中でやめるように指導されたという訳だ。30万円の補助を見送ったことになる。
でも、兵有研の研修生としてもらっている補助金があるだけでも師匠が始めたときから比べると恵まれすぎているのでこれで良しと考えようと思う。
これから補助金を受けようとする人はあきらめないで自分の責任と能力でとことん調べてください。いい加減な情報を自分の立場を守る為や他人の利益を妬んだり感情に任せて出してくる人はいます、気をつけてください。

そういうわけで、今立てているハウスは誰からも補助されていない、誰にも遠慮が要らない、妻と僕の財産だ。

Keep going something

Fine and rain

Finally I came back home. It took about 10 hours again from Shizuoka to Hyogo. Fucking sleepy, mate. I slept about 8hours in these 4 days. Now I really want to sleep. But I have lots of things to do today.
After quick branch, I went to the farm to harvest for A company, and brought them back home and pack them. After that, went to a local gardener to get fire wood for bath and brought them back home and cut into pieces.
I think I have worked so so OK. I like to go to bed.

トマト農家

まだ静岡にいる。
静岡にはビニールハウスが多い。トマトとイチゴの産地らしい。地元のJAを訪ねてトマト農家を訪ねてみた。

慣行農法なのであくまでも参考としてミニトマトのハウスを見せてもらうのだが凄い。15段以上取り続けているようだ。8月に定植し暖房を入れ翌年6月まで取り続けるという。そうする頃には25段くらいまで成長させるそうだ。そして7月中に片付け、土壌消毒をし、定植の準備をする。土壌消毒は熱湯をかける。薬剤も使う。太陽熱消毒はあまり効果が無いそうだ。そうしておくと連作障害が起こらないらしい。
農薬、化学肥料を使うそうだが、技術は凄く高い。
このやり方を有機で実践することができればかなりの経済効果はあると思う。

Going to Shizuoka

I am in Shizuoka. A reason I came here is to see a friend who has just married, we have a party. I have driven to here by my truck. It took about 10 hours, as it as only 4 gears.
First I visited MOA head quarter which is located in Izunokuni city. People there are very kind, and loved to talk about agriculture. They showed me a lot about their research institute. They have not brought in any compost or fertiliser from outside. The manure comes from healthy soil and it goes around and comes around.
I understand, nitrogen, oxygen, hydrogen and carbon come and go as they can be the gaseous body. But how about magnesium or calcium? They can not be the gas.

ピーマン鉢上げ

ピーマンの鉢上げをする。
ピーマンの苗はトマトとよく似ていて、発芽後細い双葉が出てくる。その双葉が十分に伸びきった頃にポットに植え替える。これを鉢上げという。
司法の場合、7.5cmのポットに苗用土を詰め、直径20mm位の杭で土に穴を開け、そこにプラグトレーの土ごと苗をはめ込むように移植する。
鉢上げを何回か必要とする植物もあるが、鉢上げのたびに土の中の栄養分が少なくなるよう、温度も暖めすぎないよう調整していく。

As I need to go Sannomiya today, I took one day off. Almost of time I drive to Sannomiya, I stop at a direct sale shop located in Kita ward, Kobe city to deliver our vegetables.

This shop is managed by K brothers. Their home runs a agriculture machine shop and a rice farm, so that they have lots of connection with farmers.

Basically, we deliver our vegetables somehow, and these kind of direct sale shop takes a certain commission about 20% from our turn over.
Because of its location or their effort, they sale almost of vegetables every day. So that I like to deliver ours as many as possible.

有畜複合

雨

A社の為の収穫をするため前山の畑に行った。そこで先輩農家と待ち合わせ写真撮影をする。この写真は丹波市内の有機農家を紹介する冊子に使われる。100文字のPRもできるというのでトマトを大きくやっていくよ、と書いた。

そういえばこないだのイギリス人に、イギリスの有機農業の定義ではトマト専門とか何々専門では有機農業と言えない、と聞いた。
有機農業では有畜複合が奨励されている。有畜複合というのは、家畜の糞尿から堆肥を造り、それを畑に入れて作物を作る、その作物を家畜が食べて・・・という様にエネルギーを循環させることを言う。
それから、有機農業では少量多品目が奨励されている。自然界のように多種多様なものが入り混じって健康に生きている環境を畑に作り上げるというものだ。
師匠は両方実践している。この両方を実践している人は本当に少ない。師匠はそのうちの一人だ。そんな人の下で勉強できる事を誇りに思う。
