雨。
朝から雨なので畑には行かずハンマーナイフローターの修理を始める。始めるのだがネジと言うネジがさび付いて回らないので、ねじ切ったり、ドリルで穴を開けたり、サンダーで削ったりしてとにかくこじ開けていく。
こいつを動くようにするには1ヶ月はかかるな。
先生の畑では雨の中収穫をする。
雨具を着て雨用の手袋をして、一人で作業をする。涼しい空気と雨の音が気持ちいい。結局一日中雨だった。
今晩千葉のゲストハウスに向けて発つので、みんなへのお土産に収穫したピーマン、万願寺、茄子を大量にもらった。
一つ前から狙っているエフェクターがあるのだが、妻の提案で農作物を売った売り上げ金で買うという目標を立てた。なかなかいい提案をする。
1時に家を出た。

Weeds

In these days, I have read a book named "Weeds: Guardians of the soil" which I borrowed from master.
It says it is necessary for plants to grow up with weeds for becoming the good quality. Roots of weeds cultivate the soil deeply then make water and air go through easier, and pull back sunk nourishment up to the surface of planting, not only to keep these nourishment into its own body but also nourishment comes up along the surface of the roots of weeds, etc, it says about the good functions of weeds with various examples.
I have read the other function of weeds, then I guess...
Weeds can be a companion plant.
Weeds can be the large part of balanced great variety of plants which nature makes.
It means weeds can protect the object plants from insects and disease if we control them.

五大元素
晴れ。数日前に蒔いた、大根、二十日大根、蕪が防虫ネットの中で発芽していた。発芽はうれしい。
よく見るとまだ何か小動物が侵入しているようだ。足跡があるだけで特に被害はない。でも入ってきて欲しくないので防獣ネットをしっかり固定する。ネットの足元に草が絡んだらしっかり固定されるはずだからそれまで待つ。
昨日定植したカリフラワー、ブロッコリーの苗は小さいが食べると繊維が硬くセルロースが強い。更に頑丈な体になってもらいたいのでMgを施肥する。今日のMgは基肥に使ったMgが土壌に解けていないようなのでそれが解け始めるまでの分とする。
この畑の前の使用者Iさんの残していったピーマンとキャベツの畝を片付ける。ついでに持って帰ってもらいたい資材もまとめる。この畑にはビニールマルチの破片やビニール紐がたくさん残されている。
有機農業推進方に有機農業の定義としてこんなことはあたりまえすぎて書いてないが、畑ではいわゆる五大元素と向き合いたい。

Farm shows personality
Fine -> Rain
In the morning, I have started to make new section. The ex-user of this farm Mr.I does not have time to take care of this farm because of lots of things. It is not nice for me to take care of his work. However I think it is much better to work for it than to waste a time feeling inconvenience.
It is fun to see someone's farm, as you can see the farmers' personality.
In my farm I have found something what ex-user left. I found, the rusty iron head of shovel, rusty pliers, broken or bent plops, rusty wires, rusty broken handy tools which prick the heel of my friend, lots of plastic bands, lots of piece of black plastic sheet, huge blue plastic sheet, broken plastic pegs, plastic bag of instant noodle, groves, duty dog collar..... The variation of "the lefts" are impossible for organic farm from my point of view.
After all, I can not believe in the numbers of large stones in the field. He seems to have never taken them out in his 10 years experience.
Now I think I know his attitude against agriculture.
This is really good case study for me.

死にそうになった
晴れ。
死にそうになった。
今朝地域の草刈と防災訓練があった。人形を使った本格的な人口呼吸とAEDの使い方を習って、家の近くの消火栓にホースをつないで水を撒く体験をした。病院や消防署が遠い、田舎ならではの自衛手段を見せてもらった。みんな真剣だった。
それからムラの青年団に入れてもらった。青年団は神社で土俵を作っていた。
死にそうになったのは午後畑に行ってからだ。
数日前畑のノリ面の草を刈った。ノリ面というのは畑についている斜面のことだ。段々畑なら必ず斜面がついている。ノリ面の草を刈るのは、なんというか、義務だ。
刈ったノリ面の草を燃やせばいいと地主さんが言っていたので火を点けてみた。手元には空のジョロがある。
火は乾燥した草の上を放射線状に広がりノリ面だけでなく畑や反対側のノリ面まで進入している。
想像とは全然違う広がり方をするので消そうと思った。
ジョロを持って水場に走った。水場の水深は3ｃｍほどに減っていてジョロでは汲めない。それでも水を掻き集め、火に戻った時には火の勢いが10倍になっていた。水を撒いても火の勢いは変わらない。そこで太目の雑草を引き抜いて茎を持ち土つきの根で火を叩いた。火は消える。何度かそういうことを繰り返し火は消えた。
怖かった。

Animal net
Fine.
I have been thining about my driving to Chiba. I need to go there as Davi is coming next Fri. I need to go.
I need to go, today, to buy an animal protection net, a head light for my truck and a jerrycan.
Spending all morning time and coming back to house.
After noon, I went to my farm. My farm, it sounds good. I work another day, I like it more.
I set a animal protection net. Before that it was necesarry to take out all of nets which I put before. It took 2 hours to take out old net, as they can be used again, I fold then into half and roll. One net is 20M. I did for 7 of them.
After that, the animal net was set. When I finished all work, dusk fell completely.

Son of master
Rain.
I think this is the first time to write only rain since begining of this Summer. This rain brought autumn. Atmosphere is changed.
Son of master worked with us today. He loooks handsam and seems straight. He is on the 1st grade of hight school. Comparing to my hight school age, he is way cooler. He does not talk much but got his own personality and opinion.
Anyway, it was nice to spend time with him.
The air is cool. And moon was nice.

SGEに定植
晴れ後夜雨。ズッキーニがいいサイズになってきた。
スクアッシュロンドデニースというフランス原産種で丸い。
苗を植えたいのだが2a、2bの圃場にはまだ動物よけのネットを張ってない。まずネットを張る。ネットはあるのだが支柱が十分にない。だから川沿いだけネットを張った。完全ではないが今日のところはこれでいい。
昼から雨が降るので、先生は予定を繰り上げて苗を植え、播種をする。確かに天気予報にそう書いてあった。少なくとも明日は雨が降る、と。
苗を植えることを定植といい、種を植えることを播種（はしゅ）という。
定植も播種も雨の直前に行うといい。
結局昼休みに、白菜とキャベツを定植した。
2a、2bそれぞれに、白菜1畝（約30株）、キャベツ2畝（約60株）づつ。
2aには土壌改良鉱石のSGEが入っている。定植後SGEを提供してくれた大分のオンリー株式会社↓のT社長に経過を報告した。

HOAS

Company which I belong to is Hyogo-ken Yuuki Nogyou Kenkyukai in Japanese. But I do not know how it is called in English. Hyogo-prefecture Organic Agriculture Study group, maybe. And it introduces itself as HOAS.
Anyway, HOAS organises for us, I mean for trainees, once a month, an exchange meeting at farms in Hyogo prefecture where one of us takes training. It is nice to see other trainees, and this is the reason for me to join the meeting.
Anyway, after meeting I spent time in Sannomiya for a few hours.
After coming back to Tamba, I joined a soil analysing meeting. My samples tonight are taken from my farm named 2a and 2b. I fetilised in the same way at same time. So that the result from these samples almost matches each other. I just wanted to make it sure if it does so.

稲刈り
晴れ。
昨日トラクターで作った畝の仕上げをする。
畝間を歩きやすいように、畝を少し高く、形をきれいにするために畝間から畝の上にレーキで土を少し持ち上げる。
畝の土にはたっぷりコーヒー貸す堆肥とミネラル系肥料は入っているが、この上に更に窒素系の元肥を撒き、それがなじんだ頃に頃に苗を植える。
白菜の苗はもうできていると言っていい。ブロッコリーとカリフラワーも少し早いができている。キャベツは自信ない。
先生の田んぼの稲刈りをさせてもらった。
稲刈り機の操作は忙しい。
稲を刈る高さを調節し、爪と爪の間に稲が来るようにキャタピラを操縦し、刈り上げた稲穂が脱穀されやすい場所に位置するように調節する。
そこまでは良かった。
昼休み家に帰ると、天王寺で住んでたマンションの一軒隣さんが遊びに来ていて庭先でBBQをしている。そこでビールを飲んだ。
午後からの作業は稲刈り機のメンテナンスをする。飲んだせいかネジを二本落としてなくした。いくら探しても見つからない。ネジは先生が何とかしてくれたが、稲刈りほど重要な仕事をさせてもらってるのに、恥ずかしいことをした。

High furrows
Fine.Finally we could made high furrows at our farm.
High furrows makes soil good drainage. Drainage is necesarry for almost of plants.
For making high furrows, we need to take out stones as much as possible. More I take stone, higher furrows can be.
Today we made 40cm high furrows. I am so satisfied.

Rental farm
Fine.
It is the day for training at vegetable shop & cafe which is managed by my employer. Unfortunately, I am so bored with this training.
Anyway, the bored time passed. End of the day a farmer visited me. He owns a certain farm in Nishinomiya, Hyogo. And he joins a group of rental farm named "My farm"
His farm is always full of reservation. Now there are 100sections at 17a of his farm. 1 section costs \5000 for a month to rent. So that \500,000 comes to him for a month and 6mil for a year. He shares this amount with the managing company. It takes about 60%. Still he has 2.4 mil. This is not bad.
I have investigated on this business. And I will have rental farm in the near future.

先生の畑
晴れ。
なんだか集中力が切れている。フォークを積み忘れ、耕運機を溝に落とし、トラクターの部品を逆に取り付け、平鋤が浅すぎ、ロータリーに絡んだ草をとり忘れた。
先生と何かの拍子で、食べ物の好き嫌いはあるか、という話になった。
先生には食べられないものがあると言う。
韓国で虫の繭（直径1cm長さ3cm茶色）と豚の肉を豚の腸に詰めて超濃度の豚骨スープで煮込んだものと犬の鍋が食べられなかった。フィリピンで孵化しかけの鶏の卵が苦手だった。インドで朝昼晩と繰り返される同じ味のカレーと羊と呼ばれる山羊料理の臭いに苦戦した。そうだ。
そりゃ誰でもそうですよ。それは好き嫌いとは言わんと思います。
畑は人を映す。
先生の畑は先生の性格どおり生命力がある。もちろん作物もそうだ。
理由を考えてみた。
先生の人間性は両津堪吉に通じるものがある。もちろん僕はこち亀ファンだ。両者とも種々のバクテリアと相性が良さそうだ。
先生は鶏を飼育している。鶏に毎日発酵飼料と雑草を与える。発酵飼料には飼料用ぼかしが入っていて、その中には多種のバクテリアが入っている。鶏は雑草も食べるが食べ残された雑草と発酵飼料が体内を通過した糞が程よく混じる。糞の仲にもたくさんのバクテリアが含まれている。鶏舎の床にはその堆積物が溜まる。それが今度は肥料用ぼかしとして更に多くのバクテリアによって発酵され、肥料として畑に入る。畑には多くのバクテリアが住むことになる。つまり、土の中は多くの有機物で満たされることになる。だから作物が健康に育つ。
有機農業の本には当たり前に書いてあることだが、こんなめんどくさいことあんまり実践されてない。
先生はこれを20年間続けてきた。

White gourd-melon
Fine and little rainIn these days, master has prepared for new planting. 30% of his land is now ready for new plant. Also today we worked for it.
At first, cut grass by engine mower, then chop them into chips by hummer knife rotor. Second, scattering compost, then mineral fetilizers. Third, turning the soil over by tractor. Today we have done for 1000 square meters.
Harvest today is a white gourd-melon.

兵庫県農業大学
晴れ→にわか雨（2回）兵庫県農業大学に土壌分析の授業を受けに行く。

専修学校なのだが、兵庫県下または近隣県下の農家に無料で農業の講習を定期的に行っている。
渡辺和彦先生が今日の講師だった。テキストは、野菜の要素欠乏と過剰症という本で、各要素（N、P、K、Mg、Ca・・・）の役割について詳しく書かれている。珍しいし分かりやすい本だ。
今までやっていた土壌分析と同じだが、講師が違うと話の要点も違う。この先生は土から野菜を経由して人の体に入る要素の体への影響を話してくれる。例えば、燐酸が過剰な米を食べると、人体の中で燐酸は亜鉛と結びつき体外に出てしまうが、亜鉛が体から出ると、体がだるい、食欲が出ない、傷が治りにくいなど体調不良を起こすそうだ。食べ物作ってるんやからこういうこと考えるの当然やね。有機野菜のすべてが体にいいとは限らんということかな？この先生もう一回会いたい。

Companion plants

People say lettuce can be insect repellent for cabbage. Then I planted seed of lettuce in the plug pots. These kind fo combination is called companion plants. In this case lettuce protects cabbage from insects. There are a lot of other combinations.
Now I am interested in organic agricultural chemicals which is called Azadirachta indica. How to use is to water down its sap by 500 times and splay on leaves. It also protects plans from insects.
This is because time has come to plant baby lettuce and cabbage.

石拾い
晴れ。起きるのが遅いのは分かってる。7時起床。
畑で石拾いに次ぐ石拾い。これって奴隷の仕事だと思う。
農業の始まりは奴隷的な仕事が多い。石拾い、川から水汲み、手で畝立て、手で草引き、など地べたを這いずり回る仕事が多い。洗礼とも取れる。
今日も石を拾いまくった。数えてみると石の袋は７０袋を越している。1反分の畑から出た石の数だけでだ。
2a、2bの畑の石を取ってトラクターで鋤いてみた。初めて深さ3で鋤けた。鋤いた後は又漬物石大の石が出てきたけど、これを取り去ると次はもっと深く鋤けるはずだ。明日もまた石を取って、次は4で鋤けるようにしたい。そうすればいつかは深く鋤けて高畝が作れる畑になるはずだ。
家に帰って二人BBQをした。

Bio liquid fetilizer

Woke up at 7:30. It was too late for a farmer.Sleeping is one of my hobbies, so that it is hard for me to get up early.
Anyway.
At farm, in the moring, picking up stonnes and grass. In these days, I put stones into a fetilizer plastic bags. Now there are more than 40bags on field. Where they should be?
After lunch, wife and I visited a couple whom we met at exchange party in the other day. The house was huge. I saw 6rooms and kitchen and there seems to me other a few rooms at upstairs.
After coming back home, we went our farm again to scatter bio liquid fetilizer. This is the first time to use it.

Michael Jackson
Fine.
7:00AM at firm. I cut grass for changing atmosphere against coypu nutria. It seems to not have come last night. It took 30min. and I finished morning work and kept myself to see mountains, as they looked nicer than yesterday.
In these days at morning work, I have been listening to Michael Jackson. I reconfirm he had been a really good singer since he was a kid.

Yamsai came with rain
Fine to rain. Rain for the first time in 3weeks.Weather information says rain is coming tonight, so that I was needed to finish many things before it.
I scattered Mg, Ca, Fe, Mn, Cu, Zn and coffee compost on the field which is called 2a and 2b. For only 2a I scatted the secret stone powder SGE. Then I can see how SGE works. Then plowing the field by tractor.
How I spend today was like a time attack.

Busy day.
Anyway, it is raining. Rain helps the fertilizers to be mixed with soil.

Shit happens
Fine.In spite of 2 lady guests, I slept over until 8 oclock. I think I am far from farmer. I need to be a parson who enjoys the morning life.
After breakfrist, we went to dip up "Tanuki-ana meisui" which comes through mountain. Things had been good until there.
Then moving to farm, as soon as reach there, during making shade, lady Eico steped on a sharp needle and it went into her heel, it looked 5cm deep. She does not say anything but it looked hurt. Shit happens. We are worried about tetanus.
Then we drove to hospital. Even if we were in Osaka, it is still not easy. In here it is more, and far. Finally we drove 30min. and got to hospotal.
After seeing doctor, things seem to be alright. Eico got injected vaccine of tetanus.
Now time to go lunch. Had local beef lunch.After lunch ladies went back to city from Fukuchiyama sta.
After coming back to house, I improved our germination bed as photo.

イケテル姉さん二人
晴れ。いい加減に雨が欲しい。畑がカラカラだ。
狸穴の命水から水を汲めるだけ汲んで畑の茄子、キュウリ、ズッキーニに撒いた。数日前からしてるんだけど、おかげで茄子にツヤが出たような気がする。
今日も引き続き新しく畑にする場所をレーキでならして石を拾う。ここはSGEの実験農場にしようと思っている。溝で区切られた一方にSEGを入れて、一方には入れない。それで作物の成長具合の差を見てみようと思う。

SGEを簡単に言うと、土壌改良剤です。元上司から薦められ実験することにしました。この元上司については後日書きます。非常に賢く、勉強家で、包容力があって、人間味があって、スケールの大きい人です。この人に育ててもらったことが農業を選ぶ大きな理由になりました。
午後は、大阪からE子ちゃんと京都からJ子さんが遊びに来てくれました。
BBQのは昨日からしてあるので、彼女達が到着しだいBBQ開始。二人は、ルックスいけてる、人生経験豊富だから話し面白い、仕事も結構行けてる（はず）、でこんな風になれればいいなと思っている。
あまりにもうれしすぎたのか、弱いくせに酒を飲みすぎて、宴会半ばで気分よく一人で睡眠に引き込まれる。ごめんなさい。

Rake
Fine.
September still hot.
At farm, land is tilted, because it is plowed in the same direction by tractor, as the rotary of the tractor rolls in one way. And ex-owner of this farm had plowed this land in the same way for 10 years. So the land needs to be fixed.
I went with my truck, and dig the soil a bit and put it on the truck from swelled place and release on sank place. After that making the land flat again by a rake, and picking up stones. I have done for 5a. It took one day for me.

Got a snake
Fine.
Master planted seeds of burdock yesterday. Then today we water on it and cover by rice husks to keep the moisture.
For water, 500L tank, engine pump are nesesarry. Pumping up water from easy well called "Uchikomi". Before starting work I found a snaake and flogs in the Uchikomi, actually they fall in to it. I helped only snake and broght him back to my house for the protection against mice.
